Clarinetist Emma Johnson returns to Barnstaple on November 6th with an excellent programme, including the famous Mozart Clarinet Quintet in an arrangement made by the composer’s own publisher shortly after his early death. Transformed into a Grand Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, this is truly something special!

Emma and John Lenehan (piano) also play Finzi’s quintessentially English Bagatelles which alternate pastoral romanticism and vivacious melodies, Weber’s Grand Duo, and a brilliant foot tapping piece by Emma herself. Then to round off the evening, a medley of popular Gershwin hits arranged by jazz clarinettist Benny Goodman.
