The Landmarkers is back!
Step back into the spotlight this summer with The Landmarkers – an exciting, high-energy week of musical theatre skills, creativity, and live performance, right here at the Queens Theatre.
What is The Landmarkers?
A six-day summer school where children and young people will:
- Learn high-quality musical theatre skills – from singing and acting to choreography.
- Work alongside industry-leading professionals – actors, directors, musical directors and choreographers currently working in the theatre world.
- Rehearse and perform a brand-new musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet– created especially for young performers by award winning playwright, Laura Horton.
- Experience life inside a professional, working theatre – the only opportunity of its kind in Barnstaple!
Over the week, participants will bring this exciting adaptation to life, featuring well-known songs, accessible and lively choreography, and live music – culminating in a performance on the Queens Theatre mainstage on Saturday 22nd August.
Who is it for?
Little Landmarkers (ages 6–8): Our new strand for younger performers. It follows the same schedule as the main summer school but takes place at Bridge Chambers. On Saturday, Little Landmarkers will join the older children and young people and be part of the performance at the Queens Theatre.
This is a great way for younger children to gain confidence, make friends and learn new skills. Brilliant for anyone stepping into the world of performance for the first time, but also an inspiring challenge for little ones who already have the theatre bug!
Who will they work with?
Our team includes experienced, DBS-checked industry professionals – actors, directors, musical directors, and choreographers – bringing real-world knowledge, energy and passion to every rehearsal.

- Monday–Friday: 9.30am–5pm
- Saturday: 12.30pm–8.30pm (Performance at 7pm)
